Heal The Past, Enjoy the Present, Manifest the Future
Hi! I’m Cina, a licensed psychotherapist, transformational coach, and the founder of Cina Hoey Wellness. Over several years of clinical practice and spiritual seeking, I have developed a results-driven methodology that blends clinical psychotherapy with alternative and holistic interventions. My six-dimensional approach – addressing the mind, body, soul, past, present, and future – is what sets me apart from traditional therapists and guides my clients to real change.
In addition to being licensed as a clinical social worker in two states, I have also formally studied Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), I’m a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, qualified to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through a program at The University of Massachusetts created by renowned mindfulness expert Jon Kabat Zinn, certified to teach Vipassana Meditation through the University of Holistic Theology, I’m a Reiki Master, certified Emotion Code and Body Code Energy Healing Practitioner, and lifelong learner and self-study of metaphysics and manifesting practices.
I believe that challenges are not roadblocks but gateways to our highest potential – opportunities to evolve, heal, and reclaim our true selves. With a deep commitment to both evidence-based strategies and spiritual wisdom, I help my clients reprogram their subconscious minds, master emotional regulation, and break free from self-sabotaging patterns. My work attracts motivated individuals ready to step into lasting change, harness their inner power, and experience tangible results in their personal and emotional well-being.
About the Six Dimensional Approach
I want to be completely transparent about the approach I take with clients so you can decide whether or not it is right for you. Every client is unique and some may spend more time in one dimension than others, but this is a general overview of how I help my clients create real change in themselves, their relationships, and their lives
Dimension #1: Past
Revisiting a client’s past provides valuable insight into their conditioning and some of the deepest roots of their current struggles. Clients are often carrying burdens from many years ago that continue to affect their well-being, self-worth, and decisions today.
Interventions to release the past can include simply talking through it with a compassionate witness, identifying significant events, forgiveness of self and/or others, identifying beliefs developed during significant events, updating your subconscious belief systems, connecting with your inner child, welcoming back parts of yourself you shut down, and more.
It is my belief that clients that stay stuck in their “story” of what happened to them in the past must release their attachment to this for the next evolution of themselves to come forward. While we will revisit and reprocess, the ultimate goal is liberation from the wounds of the past.
Dimension #2: Present
“The present moment is your point of power.” This is a quote from a series of channeled books known as The Seth Material. In 2016 I began a daily mindfulness meditation practice that continues to this day. Increasing the ability to be in the present moment without judgment or resistance, often solves 90% of all problems that clients seek therapy for. Clients will learn about the principles of mindfulness – letting go, patience, curiosity, non-judgment, non-fixing, and more, as the keys to their healing process. Accepting “what is” supports our ability to regulate our emotions and nervous systems, tolerate distress, break bad habits, stay more present, and all of this leads to a healthier mindset, better relationships, and more trust and faith in yourself and your incredible inner resources. The certification I have to teach mindfulness took more time and money than my master’s degree and the journey I took learning and studying – courses, books, and even silent meditation retreats with actual monks – has served me more than any other healing method that I have uncovered in the last decade. And I’ve explored a lot! Clients can expect to be exposed to the principles of mindfulness throughout our sessions as well as guided meditations and practices we will do together in session. I also offer personalized meditations for clients when I think it will be helpful and offer many free resources of guided recordings of these techniques.
Dimension #3: Future
Anyone that struggles with their mental health typically does not have a healthy view of the future. With manifesting practices – a more alternative and spiritual aspect of my process – you begin to envision a future with joy and excitement. Creating the next evolution of yourself or your life will always need to begin at the level of consciousness first. This is why I believe most attempts at change fail – people focus too much on the externals. They think they need to get a new job then they will feel okay, or they need to meet a partner, buy a house, or get a new roommate and then they will feel happy or peaceful or satisfied. Change begins within. If you do not align yourself to the frequency of what you want, believe you deserve it, and take the appropriate steps to move towards it, whatever changes you achieve will likely not be sustainable. Clients will learn the correct way to set intentions, utilize energy healing techniques, visualization practices, mental rehearsal, raising vibration, connecting with intuition and higher self, and the true power we all have as conscious creators.
Dimension #4: Mind
The skill of learning how to relate to your thinking mind – an aspect of mindfulness practice – cannot be overstated. This is one of the techniques that will serve you again and again for a lifetime. Our minds are active, to say the least, and most of us feel frustrated at the speed at which our minds churn out thoughts and the content is often unpleasant or critical. As we navigate the mind dimension, my clients learn classic cognitive therapy techniques like identifying cognitive distortions, challenging those thoughts, and reframing. Clients also learn IFS “parts work” to relate to each of their inner voices with compassion and curiosity, allowing them to observe their minds with objectivity and transcend the common pitfalls of negative thought patterns. My clients become adept at noticing, letting go, and changing the focus of their minds to something more rational, helpful, and aligned with what they would like to consciously create.
Dimension #5: Body
Our physical bodies are storehouses for memories, emotions, and energy. Without learning how to appropriately regulate our nervous systems, release energy, tolerate discomfort, or feel at home in our bodies, we tend to live in various stages of dissociation. We all have our own ways of coping with physical and emotional distress – social media, food, alcohol, substances, eating, sleeping, dating apps, etc. – and most of us never learned how to appropriately manage our own internal energies, which leaves us feeling stressed and anxious more often than necessary. My approach to healing would be incomplete without teaching my clients how to be in their bodies, ride the waves of discomfort without reaching for immediate relief, manage tension and stress from a physiological standpoint, breathe correctly for stress reduction or emotional release, care for and respect their bodies as the magnificent vessels they are, and come to acceptance of our bodies.
Dimension #6: Soul/Spirit
I will not pretend to understand the full scope of the soul – I don’t think anyone ever will. But what I’ve come to know is that no healing is complete without some understanding of who you are outside of the labels you’ve placed on yourself. In a world that’s so busy, where each of us hold so many responsibilities, it’s easy to get lost, make decisions based on fear or other people’s judgments, or just remain on auto-pilot going along with whatever the next step is supposed to be. Exploring the dimension of the soul with my clients means waking up out of the auto-pilot, understanding who you really are, and what is authentically and truly you. This often includes an exploration of your value system, how to listen to your intuition, and letting go of the limitations you’ve placed on yourself. Oftentimes this is what brings this whole healing process together – finding your authenticity and creating a life that is more in alignment with your truth rather than who you feel you’re supposed to be.
